Scup runs on a tight schedule
DIRECTIONS ~ 1 Sayer’s Wharf, Newport, RI 02842 (or navigate to the Mooring Restaurant)
WAIT ~ at the benches located between the Mooring Restaurant and Oldport Marine. It is crucial that you are present and accounted for at least 15 minutes prior to the trip.
NO PUBLIC RESTROOMS ~ You can order something at the restaurant and use their facilities or use the one on the boat. Oldport does not have a bathroom.
- The meeting area is between the Mooring Restaurant and Oldport Marine. Please leave room for other customers to transit the area. Please wait for your captain and don’t get on any boats!
- You crew comes and goes on the launch. If you are not present the launch does not wait and it can take a while for it to come back around. Put plainly, your trip could well be delayed and shortened if you aren’t there when we come in.
- Oldport Marine is NOT affiliated with Newport Charter. Please do not enter the Oldport building or ask questions of their employees.
- Our crew has your contact information and will be in touch should the crew be unable meet you 10-15 minutes before the trip.
- There is privately owned paid parking at the address, but it can fill on busy days. Newport traffic can be significant, please allow LOTS of travel and parking time.
